Position Summary
The Corporate Metrologist develops and evaluates metrology calibration systems that measure characteristics of objects, substances, or phenomena, such as length, mass, time, temperature, electric current, luminous intensity, liquid and air flow and derived units of physical or chemical measure. Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms. Oversees the entire calibration process at multiple locations which includes reviewing compliance to specifications, calibration solutions, risk analysis, generating procedures, assisting in developing software, hardware fixturing, documentation review and QA approval.
Responsibilities:
Develops calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems, accuracy, and precision requirements.
Participate with C of E team in process improvement activities for all ATS calibration labs and assists in the development of calibration software used throughout the company.
Generates technical reports and presentations to management, peers, and customers.
Design, build, and maintain a global corporate metrology program.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance, PMO and leadership to integrate organizations into ATS
Qualifications
10
years of experience developing, evaluating and maintaining metrology calibration systems.
Minimum educational requirement of a high school diploma; a 2- or 4-year technical degree is considered a significant advantage.
Must be familiar with metrology specifications ISO9001, ANSI Z540, ISO17025 and how they are implemented throughout a multi-site metrology organization.
Must be familiar with test & measuring equipment, facility requirements and software validation.
Experience generating technical reports and presentations to management, peers, and customers
Experience directing and coordinating process improvement activities.
Knowledgeable in the entire calibration process which includes reviewing compliance to specifications, calibration solutions, generating procedures, implementing software, hardware fixturing, and documentation review and approval.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Crystal Reports.
Travel:
Up to 50%, as needed to branch locations
Compensation:
Salary Range: $100,000 to $160,000 annually
Bonus : Eligible for the MIP program
The final salary within this range will be determined by factors such as location and experience.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
