PROTOCOL SPECIALIST

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of Protocol, and the standard practices, methods, and techniques of the occupation sufficient to perform difficult, but well-precedented assignments; knowledge of analysis, evaluation, fact-finding, and investigative techniques in order to gather data, identify significant factors, and recommend a solution from a number of possible alternatives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-09 grade/level position or equivalent in the federal service.NOTE:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE:

You must submit a copy of official transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Expert knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of protocol, customs, courtesies and governing policies. 2. Expert management skills with demonstrated senior leadership experience including strategic planning, mentoring, team building, problem solving, conflict management, career planning and performance evaluation. Ability to plan, organize work, direct functions and meet suspenses. 3. Knowledge of budgetary requirements associated with planning ceremonial activities, conferences, official events and the utilization of Official Representational Funds. 4. Ability to provide guidance/educate a wide range of civilian and military personnel on protocol practices. 5. Ability to work independently, set priorities, analyze situations quickly and correctly, and make quick decisions under stressful conditions to provide responsive, professional protocol assistance. 6. Expert writing and briefing ability in order to articulate Event planning, recommendations and view points by communicating in writing, oral presentations, and formal briefings. Other Significant Facts:
1. This is an ART Officer position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow the incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies. The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may also be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30% of total responsibilities. 2. This position is designated as a mobility position. Incumbent must be willing to move/transfer to another unit/location on a lateral or promotion as directed by HQ AFRC. 3. The position may require the employee to travel away from normal duty station; the employee must be willing to travel on military or commercial aircraft. 4. The incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evening, weekends and/or holidays. May be subject to on-call or recall due to contingencies or emergencies. 5. Must be able to obtain/maintain appropriate security clearance. PART-TIME OR UNPAID

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
