Summary:
The Property Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the smooth operation and resident well-being within a housing association.
This individual is responsible for managing all aspects of the property, from tenant relations and lease enforcement to maintenance and budget oversight.
Responsibilities:
Tenant Relations:
o Manage lease agreements, including processing applications, HOA dues collection, and security deposits.
o Conduct resident screenings and onboarding procedures.
o Respond to resident inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
o Enforce community rules and regulations, addressing violation fairly and consistently.
o Foster a positive and inclusive community environment for residents.
Property Management:
o Oversee routine maintenance and repairs, scheduling services and monitoring vendor performance.
o Manage the property budget, allocating funds for maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
o Conduct regular property inspections to identify and address any potential issues.
o Oversee cleaning and landscaping services.
o Stay informed of relevant housing regulations and ensure compliance.
Administrative Duties:
o Prepare reports and maintain accurate records related to occupancy, maintenance, finances, and resident communications.
o Manage communication with the home owner's association board of directors.
o Stay updated on relevant housing laws and regulations.
o Utilize property management software to streamline operations.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in property management, preferably within the housing association sector.
Strong understanding of fair housing laws and regulations.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
Proficient in computer skills and property management software.
Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Valid driver's license.
Additional Desirable Skills:
Experience working with low-income or vulnerable populations.
Knowledge of building maintenance and repair procedures.
Budgeting and financial management experience.
Bilingual ability (depending on the community served).
Experience working with commercial and/or residential construction.
