59 PM Position Information The purpose of this classification is to procure goods and services for the County in compliance with current public purchasing laws, rules, and regulations.
Essential Functions Processes purchase requisitions:
receives purchase requisitions for various County departments; checks for funds, verifies account numbers and signatures; ensures dollar amounts are in compliance with established policy and procedures.
Processes purchase orders in financial system; sends purchase orders to vendors; updates purchase orders in financial system as needed; and closes purchase orders as needed; and submits to appropriate personnel.
Maintains accurate and correct data in paper files and automated financial and contracting systems:
edits and updates information as needed; reviews and analyzes system reports; and researches and resolves problems.
Assists with purchasing activities such as identifying and sourcing suppliers; obtaining quotes for products and services, preparing reports, scanning and uploading documents, receiving bids, participating in bid openings, processing bids, and representing department in meetings.
Creates and updates documents such as letters, memos and spreadsheets in Microsoft Office, financial system and contracting system related to formal sealed bids such as Annual Contracts, Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Invitations to Bid (ITB).
Communicates regularly with internal and external customers via telephone and email.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; supplemented by two years of experience in business or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Licenses and Certifications Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Certified Professional Public Buyer preferred.
