The primary function of this role is to provide Personal Care Assistance - or Direct Support and related services to the individual in their home.
These tasks include:

QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GEDFirst Aid and CPR certificationCNA/ PCT certification preferred experience in home health and direct care is also acceptedMust be very familiar with and previously trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)Must be very familiar and efficient with working with individuals with behaviors.
Must be very familiar with nonverbal individuals, American Sign Language (ASL), and have previously or currently practiced or utilized sign language to communicate with others.
Must have at least three(3) years of RECENT experience in a health-related field, day program services, home health care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Must be able to provide references and contacts of previous employers.
Above average communication skills:
oral and writtenMust have reliable transportation and be willing to transport individuals as neededMust be able to work independently without direct supervisionMust be able to pay attention to detail and report adequately.
Must be willing to write/type documentationMust be familiar with Therap documentation systemMust be creative and willing to think outside the boxMust have the ability to utilize effective decision-makingMust be able to work cooperatively with individuals and their familyMust be able to follow procedures and emergency protocols properlyMust be willing to complete FBI- Background check, it will be required through the GA Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities if offered the position Must be willing to complete a TB test/ PhysicalMust possess a valid driver's license and insurance and be willing to provide a Motor Vehicle Report.
