Research Scientist (Graduate Program)

The aim of the Graduates Program is to recruit top-performing graduates, enabling them to accelerate their career and become part of the next generation of key contributors and leaders of Imerys.
The Program runs for 2 years (24 months) consisting of two 12-months rotations. During the first 2 years, Graduates will hold two different positions. Each Graduate will have an individual development plan consisting of a:
Job specific coaching
Assigned mentor
Graduates training curriculum
Graduates community support
Learning expeditions etc.
At the end of the 2 year program, graduates will be placed in a new challenging role. The program is open to fresh graduates and to graduates with up to 3 years of experience. Join the Innovation team and Graduates Program as a Research Scientist in order to work side-by-side with world-class scientists and learn firsthand how Innovation works in an industrial company from concept to commercialization. This particular position allows the Graduate to contribute directly to new developments of our minerals in caulks, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE).
Provide hands-on technical and experimental support Research and Commercial teams for the CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers) customer segments
Assist and contribute to all aspects of new product development, customer problem solving, plant technical support and pilot-plant trials
Formulate polymer dispersions with the relevant Imerys and ASTM test methods. Evaluate coatings/liquid dispersion performance properties using Imerys and ASTM test methods
The ideal candidate will have/be:
BS or MS degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related program from an accredited 4-year University
Intern experience or graduate with 1-2 years of experience with polymer dispersions, coatings, CASE and testing / evaluation of materials
Strong interpersonal communication skills: able to easily and effectively communicate with multiple levels in the organization including the shop floor
Must enjoy working in a plant and lab environment
Self-motivated person able to work, process and analyse data with limited supervision
Creativity - to identify new methods to produce and analyze the desired products
Collaboration - this project will include researchers at several sites and different countries and cultures, as well as customer interaction
Thoroughness - attention to detail is required to fully document all experimental results
Ability to effectively apply deductive reasoning, scientific methodology, and practical problem solving techniques
Desire to work hands-on at the laboratory bench
Capable of working efficiently and accurately on multiple projects concurrently
Computer proficient MS Office, Google Sheets, technical databases, email and internet
Skilled in the use of equipment used for CASE material production and testing
Must have effective interpersonal skills, fluency in English, and flexibility to communicate in particular with colleagues for whom English is not their native language
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and balance priorities
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary New Product Development project team
Ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing situations

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
